East Side 7U Storm wins Georgia Dizzy Dean State Championship!
The East Side 7U Storm finished an incredible summer winning the Dizzy Dean State Championship and advancing to the final 6 of the Dizzy Dean World Series.
The Storm began its summer with 14 straight wins, picking up tournament championships at Shaw Park and Kennesaw, before losing its first game in the championship game at the All-Players Tournament. The team went on to finish 3rd in the Dizzy Dean District Tournament, qualifying for the State Tourney at Midway Park.
The team bounced back at State, eliminating both its District Champs and Runners-Up en route to the championship round where they defeated NYO twice to capture the state championship.
The Storm then traveled to Cumming for the Dizzy Dean World Series, representing East Side and Georgia well in a field of 48 teams from across the Southeast. They placed in the top six, defeating many tough teams including the Louisiana and Tennessee state champions.
The boys completed the summer season with a 31-6 record. The boys were led by head coach Steve Arendsen, assistant head coach Louis Shapiro and several other devoted dads.
Finally, the Storm received tremendous support from its friends at East Side and thanks everyone that followed the team and came out to support them.
